Momentum:
The shape of the game series:

In a match momentum is everything. "EVERYTHING!"

The point of knowing this is no big deal what is important is how to get it, how to keep it and how to stop another player from having it.

Important matches with equal players always come down to a couple of key points which turns the flow of energy/momentum to the other player. This can be a very subtle situation, a bad call, a big serve, a long rally or many other things which cause a player to break.

What breaks, the will, the spirit, confidence, courage, heart, desire or the mind just starts to lose it. How does it break? Does the forehand side go off, the serve get short, the legs give out, the backhand gets late, a bad break, a let court, anger creeps in, fear paralyzes, too much thinking, overhitting, underhitting and all the other ways that losing happens.

Back to momentum, the obvious problems are always going back to conditioning and technique when the real key is drive. You can't have momentum unless you know where you are going. You must have the desire and drive to win more than anything else.
