WINTER SUNSHINE GRAND SLAM

Wayne Bullock & Richard Wigley defeated former champions Earl Morgan & Richard Huck in the finals of the WinterSunshine Grand Slam 3-1, 0-3, 3-1. Wayne who accepted a teaching position for the St. George Tennis Academy and is also planning to coach the Hurricane Tigers tennis team showed off doubles skills to win the Super Saturday series event. In the semifinals, Bullock and Wigley defeated L.J. Aldred & Logan Endsley 3-1, 3-2 and in the best match of the tournament Morgan & Huck survived against the determined pair of Sam Moyle & Stephanie Caplin 3-1, 1-3, 3-0. Tony Ivins visiting from Salt Lake teamed up with his father, Reed Ivins competed in their first Super Saturday tournament and won the consolations with a come from behind victory over Jeremy Atkin and Isaac Nelson 2-3, 3-1 in the final.

Next Saturday, February the 23rd at 11:30AM the DesertSpring Invitational begins the spring circuit. No Registration required. Entry is $5 per player. Tennis Balls and prizes for winners are provided. All matches are played at the Tonaquint Tennis Center on Dixie Drive, one block north of Tonaquint / Hilton Road.
