TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Desert Sky CHAMPIONSHIPS: Results
Dan Krupicka def Richard Wigley 3-2, 2-3, 3-1 in a match played under slightly windy and hot conditions. It was a hard hitting affair as neither player was interested in playing long points. The two practice partners held serve until the third set when a couple of well placed shots broke open the match. Dan was able to break serve and then held his own serve using placement rather than power to win his first tournament title of the year.

Jeremy Atkin coming off a great win in Salt Lake City was able to defeat last weeks finalist at the Red Desert Open, Marc Manuele 2-3, 3-2, 3-1. Jeremy was not able to handle the power game of Richard Wigley in the semifinals but played a challenger against Sam Moyle winning 3-2 3-1. Mark Nilsson after a good win over Sam Moyle 3-2, 3-1 in the Quarterfinals found the semifinals at this tournament much tougher as Dan Krupicka's game really on and working. Dan had trouble getting in gear in his win over Glen Smith in the quarters 3-2, 3-0 but turned it up a notch in the semis and on his way to the win in the final.

In the Consolations Russ Christensen came through the draw strongly after losing a tough firstround match versus Sam Moyle and walked through the draw defeating Jade Frampton 3-0, 3-1 and Kaleb Nygaard 3-0,3-0 and winning the final 3-1, 3-1 over Renae Smith. The 16 draw Tournament went very well and was finished in three and one half hours at 2:30pm making this the best way to play a tournament in one day. Thanks to all the participants.
