On December 8th the WinterSunhine Championships was the best draw of players we have had in Southern Utah. From the local tennis pros, former professionals, local high school and collegiate level players.

This was collective draw with all players entered into a single tournament. The top four seeds, (1) Scott Adams, (2) Phil Oliver, (3) Chris Burkley and (4) Rich Wigley made it to the Semi-Finals with the top two seeds advancing for an extremely close championship match.

Phil won the toss and elected to serve. The first set was close but Phil held serve and won 3-2. In the second Scott won 3-0 breaking Phil and forcing a third set. To win Phil needed to hold serve and he did after surviving a break and championship point when Scott hit the tape on a forehand volley. Phil served out the next two points to win the WinterSunshine Championships.
